Our Mexico trip has been in the planning stages since August 2007, when we purchased a 2008 Bighorn 3055RL 5th wheel trailer and a 2008 Ford Super Duty F350 deisel to haul it. This purchase coincided with plans to retire in March 2008
We knew we wanted to spend our winters in warmer climates but weren’t sure exactly where. We had visited Arizona a number of times on short vacations and initially thought we might winter somewhere in the southern half of the state. Many hours were spent researching by the internet and it was soon discovered that in some parts of southern Arizona the nighttime temperatures dip to the low 40,s (Fahrenheit). A little too cool for us. We next started checking the Pacific coast of Mexico and found that northern Mexico was not much warmer than Arizona. We didn’t want to stay in a big city, so we concentrated our search on beachfront campgrounds in smaller towns. As luck would have it I was reading an RV Mexico blog and a camper gave an excellent review of a small town called Lo de Marcos. It is ideally located in what is referred to as the Narayit Riviera, roughly 40 minutes drive north of Puerto Vallarta. It is a small town of about 2500 inhabitants, has 7 or 8 RV campgrounds, some of which front on the beach. By reviewing comments posted by fellow travellers we were able to narrow our search for a campground and by email were able to reserve a site.
We are now actively engaged in preparing travel itineraries and checking routes. Now comes the hard part–waiting

Your dog is very pretty.
Très beau paysage, sur le bord de la mer, la chaleur et des gens joyeux en vacances. La retraite c’est fait pour pouvoir jouir seulement des bonnes choses. Enjoy your retirement (both)
